When a message arrives while Infium is open, a banner slides down from the top — tap it to open the chat, tap Reply to answer with that message quoted, or swipe it away. It appears only when the app is open and you're not already looking at that chat. Messages that arrive while the app is closed still come through your system notification. Also, notifications now work for encrypted chats on desktop and mobile, and the app no longer shows a duplicate banner for messages that arrived while it was closed.

Encrypted chats are now reliable:
- Messages no longer get stuck on "Decrypting…" — they arrive even after reinstalling the app or when a large backlog has built up.
- Fixed encrypted messages that were not delivered in one direction after a device was re-linked (adding or re-adding a phone or tablet).
- The app no longer floods the server with requests at startup, so it opens faster and uses less battery and data.
- If a message truly cannot be decrypted, you now see an honest notice instead of an endless spinner.

2026-10-17 17:08:31 +02:00 Photos, videos, voice messages and files now display properly in encrypted chats. Before, a photo could arrive as an empty frame with only its caption — now the picture itself shows up. Attachments show their real file name and size, and each photo in a group keeps its own name when you save it. The app also connects faster when you open it, and notifications for new messages are more reliable.

2026-10-14 21:07:02 +02:00 This update adds 'Wipe all data' so you can reset Infium completely. Open Settings, go to the Account tab, and tap 'Wipe all data'. It removes everything Infium keeps on this device - your saved login, chats, encryption keys and cache - and signs you out. Use it for a clean start or before passing the device on.
